“Shirlene...” Max murmured to himself in sorrow. He laid sprawled out on the ledge of a cliff, looking up at the moonless sky, murmuring to himself.
“I just want her to like me back. I’ve never wanted anybody more than I wanted her.” he gritted his teeth as another murderous thought crossed his brain. “These terrible ideas have been troubling me, I don’t know how much longer I can take this.” The blue wolf looked back up at the sky, as if the stars could answer him back.
His answer did not come from the heavens.
“What’s got you blue, kid?” a sly voice sounded from the shadows, chuckling at his own joke.
Max’s head shot up, looking around for the other being nearby “Who’s there?” he growled. He didn’t really feel like putting up with anyone at the moment.
“Calm your tits” a firey red wolf crawled out of the shadows, his bright green eyes filled with amusement as he grinned down at the smaller wolf. “I’m a friend.”
“You’re an intruder” Max sneered.
“I’m just here to help you. The name’s Pyro.” he sat down, his big bushy tail swishing back and forth.
“Help me?” Max looked the stranger up and down, confused. “How could you help me?”
“I can make that Shirlene girl see that you’re the right guy for her. The only guy for her.” Pyro smirked devilishly.
Many moments of silence passed as Max thought it over. “What’s the catch?”
“Oh nothing important, you’ll barely miss it.” Pyro narrowed his eyes. “Just your soul.”
“My soul?!” Max tried to keep himself from shivering as Pyro’s firey tail touched him. “I need my soul, don’t I?’
“Mmmm, you don’t really need it. Besides, don’t you need that Shirlene even more than you need your little soul?” Pyro smirked, seeing Max consider his offer.
“Hurry up and make your choice. I’m a very busy wolf, I don’t have all day.”
“Okay.... fine..... I’ll do it....” Max lifted his uncertain brown eyes.
“Yes” Pyro sighed in happiness, his red fur growing brighter, little flames swimming in the air around the two. Max’s eyes widened, unsure of what to think. Just as he was about to back out of the deal, Pyro reached his paw into Max’s chest.
The pain was excruciating. Max gritted his teeth together so hard, he could’ve sworn they were bleeding. Then when Pyro pulled his paw back out, the sensation stopped. Max opened his jaws, trying to catch his breath. Some new feeling swept beneath his skin.
“What do I do now?” Max asked, out of energy.
“Max!” Shirlene yelped out in desperation “Max, stop it! What are you doing?! MAX!”
Max sighed in pleasure, the sound of Shirlene screaming out his name rang in his ears like music. “I love that...” he murmured to himself.
He had done it. He killed Shirlene’s mate with Pyro’s power, and now he had Shirlene cornered in the flames. Max stepped closer, fire lighting up his brown eyes. He towered over Shirlene, who pressed closer to the ground, tears running down her cheeks.
“I’ll give you one last chance” Max loved how his voice growled in that threatening tone. “Will it be me or the fire?”
Shirlene whined in fear, and murmured in disbelief “What?”
Max shouted out, losing control, intensifying the fire as he did “Be mine or you will BURN!”
